Scavenging Around 349/365

Linking with Ashley for this week's Scavenger Hunt.  Fun list this week.  Thanks Ashley.

This week's list:  Against the Light, Frame w/in a Frame, Best Part of your Day, Buttons, and Ink.

Burn {349/365} {sh 17}
Burn {349/365}
Against the Light:  I admit I have "senioritis".  I am really, really close to finishing my 365 and in the last couple weeks there's been a couple days when I've almost blown it....not getting pics until like 9 or 10 at night.  After nearly a year of this, I know that's a big no-no and recipe for failure.
  This was one of those days...I ended up playing with matches with the lights off in the kitchen....but as Tim Gunn would say "make it work" and this did.  Jus' sayin....one must be quick on the shutter if one is being one's own model for this.  Maybe my disclaimer should say "don't try this at home."

Commercial Docks
Commercial Docks
Frame within a Frame:  I think this is just a frame.  I think I'm missing the extra frame.  Oh well.  It's a well framed boat never the less....do you see those ducks?  Me no yike what that's hinting at.

Five Fifteen
Five Fifteen (SOOC)
Best Part of your Day:  Totally confessing 5:15 a.m. is not normally the best part of my day.  On this morning getting sleep was futile, so I snuck out hoping to grab some morning light.  Seriously....isn't this amazing?  No Photoshop-only to straighten the horizon.  Such a unique sky.
I did get a nap later too.  Maybe that was the best part of my day.

Buttons
Buttons
Buttons:  So like dinosaur buttons, heh?  When was the last time you thought "hey, I need to use a payphone"?  I don't remember yellow receivers either-maybe they're making them yellow so they'll be easier to find.  I don't suppose these are strong money makers anymore either.

Sketch Artist
Sketch Artist
Ink:  Stumped on this one until I remembered taking this shot last weekend when I stopped in Boothbay Harbor (tourist haven) for an ice cream....I've never had my caricature drawn.  Perhaps I'll leave it that way.  Love the intensity of the artist and his display of works.

As always, thanks for your stop by my blog.  I'll tell you....I get the sweetest compliments left on my comment trail, and I really appreciate that.  Often it makes my day.  Hope your day is a great one.

like the yellow phone! In my 70 years, I have never seen anything but black payphones. Perhaps you are right about the reason for their being yellow.
As always, I enjoy your photos for Scavenger Hunt!

I love against the light, and being an early morning gal, I know that's the magicical time to go out and shoot. thanks for your comment. :-)

the against the light is beautiful (though it reminds me of a terrible pledging experience - Greek alpha before being burned). Your sooc is awesome. And a telephone? Oh, I don't miss fishing for quarters!

I think all your shots are great. But despite perhaps burning yourself I really love your first one. And your sunrise is excellent. Wish I could get up in time to do a sunrise. But I just can't. Lol.

The first burn shot is fantastic, I love it. Never seen a yellow pay phone before, kind of reminds me of the yellow and blue fire hydrants that seem to be around here in VA, for some reason that color scheme reminds me of Noddy and Big Ears.

Haha...have to say I love your commentary as much as your photos! From looking at your "against the light" shot I think I'm gonna have to go play with some matches myself. And I absolutely ADORE your buttons shot of the pay phone! I'm not even sure I could FIND one. Think I"m going to have to go on another scavenger hunt now :). Brilliant job!

cool frame within a frame and your button shot is super creative. However it is your flame capture that drew me in.

You still have pay phones?!! I confess, I have a dial phone in my attic that I bought as a teenager. I like how you framed the boat.

P.S. Gel are very inexpensive :-). You can get a set and a holder that velcros to your flash for $20.

Fantastic! Love those buttons~I confess I often wish there was a pay phone around, but in this age of cell phones...

Great take on ink and gorgeous sunrise shot! A nap! Yes, that is a great day if I get a nap!

I love that you sat in your kitchen in the dark playing with matches. and each photo is uniquely you. I'm particularly fond of Commercial Docks. that's a perfect photo. your hunts are a lot of fun to view each Sunday. thanks for the tips on doing the hunt, but you know...I'm thinking it's simply too much work and then just don't do it. I'm such a slug. I'll be heading out of town tomorrow to visit my mum for a few days. that means back to the family farm so I'll be out of range for awhile. have a good one my friend.
